Special Screening of ULTIMO ADIOS Today for CAYA

Today, a special screening of Dr. Jose Rizal’s poem ULTIMO ADIOS in Filipino Sign Language [132nd version of the poem since 1897] will be held this afternoon January 13, Friday at 1 pm for Caya Consunji, a Deaf descendant of Dr. Rizal. Since June I have been in communication with Caya but unfortunately, I won’t be able to meet her because of my test shoot for the Speech module of  my friend Dr. Belen Calingacion of the UP Theater Arts and Speech Comm. Ultimo Adios is the first in the series of 5 Rizal poetries in film that I am working on.

Screening venue will be the CSB-School of Design Cinema located at Pablo Ocampo St. The showing was initiated by Febe Sevilla, CSB SDEAS teacher and interpreter with Giselle Montero, Director of Center for Partnership and Development, De La Salle-College of Saint Benilde School of Deaf Education and Applied Studies.
