Sharing to anyone interested in sped education an invitation from BRO. ED H. LUMBAO, Sped Director, NEU and Dr. EDILBERTO I. DIZON, Professor of Special Education and SPED Diagnostician-Counselor
12 March 2015
Dear Participant:
Warm Greetings! It is with much joy getting in touch with you and bonding with you personally and professionally through our yearly national conferences and lecture-fora.
The Special Education Program of the New Era University (NEU) – in celebration of the university’s 40th founding anniversary – cordially invites you to its SPED Lecture Forum on this topic: RENAVIGATING THE DOMAIN OF SPECIAL EDUCATION: Discovering Emerging Disciplinal Paradigms. This is scheduled on:
May 30, 2015, Saturday / 12:00 noon – 5:00 p.m.
NEU – College of Evangelical Ministry
New CEM Bldg., 16 Central Avenue, Quezon City
The theme of this lecture-forum focuses on the developments, issues and concerns in, and scope and interconnections of seven (7) disciplinal components: Conceptualization, Contextualization, Categorization, Collaboration, Connections, Core Contents and Career Destination and Charting New Directions (Dizon, 2014). This theme is most relevant and timely as it aims to propel stakeholders (professors, students, parents, administrators and support-persons) to reflect on, redefine and reformulate concepts and guidelines, and draw implications on guidance/intervention provisions. Such, therefore, is most helpful in enhancing knowledge and competencies in the ever-dynamic discipline of Special Education.
Our speaker is DR. EDILBERTO I. DIZON, a pillar of Special Education and retired U.P. SPED Professor. He is currently a Professorial Lecturer in SPED at the NEU, and still a SPED Diagnostician-Counselor at the ChildFind Therapy Center.
Again, welcome to the NEU and spend a few hours of academic discussion toward a more responsive SPED in the Philippines. It has been said that we are “called to serve”. This lecture-forum aims to facilitate our journey toward such destination! Except for the lecture monograph you may wish to buy, the lecture-forum is open to participants free of charge.
Thank you and magkita-kits tayo sa May 30!
