A MI PATRIA Screens on Rizal’s 151st Birth Anniversary

Everyday until today, June 18, I have been working on El Brujo. Tikoy approved the first cut of 2/3 of the film – Director’s Cut Version [the rest are still to be shot]… So, I wasn’t able to give much time to prepare for the showing of my own film, A MI PATRIA which is going to be screened tomorrow. Just had a nap and ran to CSB this afternoon for coordination and updating purposes. In fact, I have yet to prepare the DVDs that I’ll project. Anyway, for details here’s what I got from fb:

SPREAD, HELLO EVERYONE, KINDLY SUPPORT US 馃檪 THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!We wish to invite everyone to get their tickets for A MI PATRIA (To my Motherland), the first ever interpretation of 5 poems of Dr. Jose P. Rizal in Filipino Sign Language.This will be launched on June 19, 2012 3:00 pm at the SDA Theater 5th Floor, DLS-CSB SDA Campus, P. Ocampos St. Manila on the occasion of the 151th birthday of our national hero. Some members of the Rizal family will be attending.The 5 poems are:
A Filipinas / Sa Filipinas [ Interpreted in FSL by Aldrin Gabriel ];
A la Juventud Filipina / To the Philippine Youth [Interpreted in FSL by Mark Gaspar ];
Canto de Maria Clara / Awit ni Maria Clara [ Interpreted in FSL by Jorrelle Faytaren ];
A las Flores de Heidelberg / To the Flowers of Heidelberg [Interpreted in FSL by Romalito Mallari] and
Mi Ultimo Adios[ Interpreted in FSL by Aldrin Gabriel ].All poems were written by Dr. Jose Rizal and all with subtitles. DLS-CSB’s very own dance ambassadors, Silent Steps are also included in the film.

Originally entitled 鈥淢ga Natatanging Tula ni Rizal sa Wikang Senyas,鈥 A mi Patria was produced by Miryad Visyon in collaboration with the National Commission for Culture and the Arts and the DLS-CSB School of Deaf Education and Applied Studies. Direction and editing by Miranamedina.
