1st Asian Para Games 2010

The first Asian Para Games (also known as the 2010 Asian Para Games), a parallel sport event for Asian athletes with a disability, opened yesterday December 12 and will close on December 19, 2010, two weeks after the conclusion of the 16th Asian Games.  The event is being held in Guangzhou, China.

The 1st Asian Para Games is organized by the Asian Paralympic Committee (APC) in cooperation with the Guangzhou Asian Para Games Organizing Committee (GAPGOC). GAPGOC aims to stage a unique Asian Para Games,

“To further strengthen and promote unity in Asia thru the Paralympic Movement by providing excellent conditions for athletic competition, delivering a high level of accessibility, fostering good relations between nations and maximizing media coverage give equal publicity exposure to athletes with disabilities.”
