Mi Ultimo Adios-Filipino Sign Language [FSL] version is said to be [according to the research made by Rizal Shrine curator Zarah Escueta] the 123rd translation of the poem. The poem was originally written in Spanish by Dr. Jose Rizal. Twenty-two years ago, in a book published by the National Historical Institute, they have listed 80 translations of the poem [46 foreign languages and 34 Philippine languages and dialects]. The book’s title is Mi Ultimo Adios in Foreign and Local Translations, Vol. I, 1989.  Mi Ultimo Adios – Filipino Sign Language Version is the first-ever interpretation of the poem more than 100 years after it it was written in 1896.
