Role of Sign Language Interpreters

24 Oras News yesterday reported on the sign language interpretation of P-Noy’s State of the Nation Address [SONA], said to be the first time GMA offered to our Deaf brothers and sisters. Last year, other TV networks provided sign language captioning of the SONA. At least networks are becoming aware of the necessity of making important information accessible to the Deaf community.
