Commitment to GOD and fellow PWDs
January 1, 2011I just want share to all the wonderful New Year message that I received this afternoon from Rex Bernardo, PWD advocate from Camarines Norte:
“2011 is at hand! Let us commit to GOD, our people and our fellow persons with disabilities to make the coming months happy, productive and liberating. Let us lovingly labor for 98% of school age children with disabilities who cannot access even basic education and many deprived PWDs for rights based services. Let us invoke the UNCRPD and we as leaders and sector supporters have to perform mandated roles. Let us assiduously fulfill our tasks and unselfishly serve GOD, people and our fellows. If the New Year has to be happy, let it be because we have attained our goals for the entire sector.”
He earlier texted me last Christmas to say something that I support and fully agree with: “For everything that happens in our lives, there is a reason and a mission. Let the reason be God and the mission be love and service to humanity which is the best work of our lives…”
This is my 3rd blog post today and it seems funny since I have just committed myself to a PostAWeek 2011 challenge…
