All five poems — read in Spanish are complete now. I am just left with sound equalization — waiting for Bert de Santos from Bohol to do it; a few retouches are to be done on the music [had to shorten because the FSL version is longer]. The subtitles in Filipino are all placed. I think I’ll meet my target of finishing at least two language versions by mid-February. FSL and Spanish versions can very well be shown together since the Deaf performers for the FSL version are different from the latter.

The Top Seven List of the Only Soundtrack Composers I Can Name
January 27, 2012Found this blog by John LaRue, a graphic designer/production editor quite interesting! Especially so, because Manila Kingpin’s music track especially the last part quite wrecked Tikoy’s heart! The vision of the director is so complete while in the creative process, that taking over the baton from him is nothing less but devastating.
“It takes a lot of people to make a movie. There are actors and actresses, directors, producers, gaffers, best boy grips, editors, screenwriters, foley artists, and tons more. Unfortunately for those behind the scenes, usually only actors/actresses and directors gain any sort of fame. As such, even the most devoted cinephiles can have giant gaping holes when it comes to naming the individuals who do anything on a film set other than act or direct. To illustrate the point, I’ve seen thousands and thousands of films. Do you know how many soundtrack composers I can name? Not many.” To find out, click, the-top-seven-list-of-the-only-soundtrack-composers-i-can-name

The Legacy Lives on with Jose Rizal’s Descendants
January 25, 2012
Atty. Ramoncita Reyes, descendant of Saturnina Rizal, receives gift from Arch. Veronica Dado of NHCP; Curator Zarah Escueta on the extreme right
This success is dedicated to the legacy of our national hero, his descendants who continuously enrich the hearts and minds of the Filipino people through their endeavors in life be they a lawyer, a doctor, a writer or an artist; they surely give honor to their forefather who gave them honor first. It is truly a legacy that lives on through Jose Rizal’s descendants and uninterruptedly advocating through his last literary work, Ultimo Adios. [legacy-lives-onwith-jose-rizals.html

Musical Savant_DEREK PARAVICINI
January 24, 2012An Indian friend, Dharam Gulati forwarded me an email regarding Derek Paravicini… a Musical Savant!!!
Lesley Stahl profiles British musical savant Derek Paravicini, whose computer-like memory for music is matched by his creative abilities to play it in any style. Derek, a musical genius and nephew of, Camilla Parker Bowles, plays the piano like you’ve never heard. Yet, he doesn’t know his age nor does he know how to hold up three fingers! Also, he is blind!
AMAZING how latent talent has its way to outscore adversity. A must see. CLICK the link below and be amazed.

Kung Hei Fat Choi!
January 23, 2012At least, I feel a little better today. A Happy Chinese New Year’s Day for me. Kung Hei Fat Choi! means May Prosperity Be With You. But I wish you all not only prosperity but good health above everything!
Yesterday, I wasn’t able to attend the Autism Walk 2012, a practice that I always do annually. Being sick automatically disables me from my work. Early morning today, I got up feeling better so I was able to work on the A La Juventud Filipina segment of Mr. Fernando Ramos. A Spanish national, he is a visiting professor at the UP Department of European Languages. With the Silent Steps performance his reading was simultaneously edited in. One or the other functions as an inset. I am just to layin the music of JM Diego and Roselle Pineda. Their music for this particular segment is their second best composed music for the omnibus film, A mi Patria / Inang-Bayan. Ultimo Adios music still ranks for me as the best among the lot.
